GM is an architectural practice founded in 2022.
We work across multiple scales and stages, from concept to realization, with an idea-driven and context-responsive approach that considers the lasting impact of architecture. 
The practice has realized projects across Turkey and Germany.

Nur Gayretli, Architect, MA
Founder

Nur graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at Dokuz Eylül University in 2013 and completed her Master’s degree in History, Theory, and Criticism in Architecture at Bilgi University in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. İhsan Bilgin. Her dissertation, “Confrontations in Dwelling: Houses of Levent Neighbourhood,” reflects her belief in the close relationship between practice and theory.
 

Her contribution to “Out of Istanbul?” by Sinan Logie and Yoann Morvan was exhibited at the MAXXI Museum in Rome. She has worked on a wide range of projects at leading Istanbul-based design offices including TEGET, SML, and MAS. At MAS, “A Place to Be” received the Jury Special Prize at Yapı Kataloğu, while the İzmir University of Economics Campus Project (MAS + MIMLAB) won First Prize in a national competition.

In addition to her professional work, Nur has been teaching design studios at Medipol University and Bilgi University, while also conducting cultural engagements with AkbankSanat as a presenter of design talk series.

 

Nur has been shaping Gayretli Mimarlar with her versatile background since 2022.

Collaborations 

Gayretli Mimarlar works through a collaborative and flexible practice shaped around the specific needs of each project. Teams are formed on a project-based basis, bringing together different voices across architecture, interior design, graphic design, product design, and related creative fields. Covering the entire process from spatial and interior design to identity development and realization, this collaborative structure allows each project to be handled as a cohesive whole.​​​​​
